Top 10

Emotions run high when you work in a middle school.  They run even higher when your middle school is getting a new principal.  Teachers desperately want to have their say in what happens logistically.  In an effort to make light of the overwhelming all staff emails to solve these problems and her boredom when I'm not at school, my teammate has been making me Top 10 lists that make me want to go to school if for nothing more than comic relief.  Here is my favorite one on the Top 10 ways to get kids to stop calling 911.  Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! You're welcome.

Top 10 ways to get kids to stop calling 911:
10 – Tell them not to touch your phone
9 – Keep the kids in the hallway with you
8 – Continue NOT watching the hallway
7 – Take your phone with you into the hallway
6 – Watch both the hallway and your room
5 – Break your phone
4 – What? Why is that even a building council question
3 – Put marker on the ear piece of your phone so everyone will know that the kid with the blue ear did it.
2 – Switch the 4 and the 9 on your phone, they will get the information they are apparently looking for.
1 – Teachers need to stop calling 911 and getting kids in trouble.
